Dekai Yahukimo, Kompas86.id – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Tuesday, 19 November 2024, the Marines Task Forces, especially the Kotis Dekai Post led by Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with some members of the Yahukimo Regional Police while performing the areal protection activity. This Komsos aims to foster trust and cooperation between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local stakeholders to support the Indonesian Government’s program of accelerating the development of the Papua region.
In his emphasis on the Soldiers, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, Commander of the Marines Task Forces, conveyed the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to conducting social communication with all stakeholders in the assigned areas. Therefore, since their assignment in Papua, the TNI Soldiers have tried to utilize their assignment time by conducting Territorial activities to maintain communication and relationships with all stakeholders. On Tuesday, the Commander and Soldiers of the Marines Task Forces received the Chief and members of the Yahukimo Regional Police visiting the Post to convey their greetings on the 79th anniversary of the Indonesian Navy Marines Corps.
While carrying out the task, the Soldiers interacted and communicated with the Police members. During the interaction, the Soldiers and the Police members conveyed the security situation updates in the Dekai District, which is still relatively safe and conducive. Furthermore, the Police members were happy with the Soldiers’ concern and happily welcomed their visit to the Post. The Chief of Yahukimo Regional Police, AKBP Heru Hidayanto, said, “Happy 79th anniversary of the Indonesian Navy Marines Corps, glorious at all times.”
Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the Marines Task Forces’ initiative to communicate socially with the members of Yahukimo Regional Police. His words: “The Marines Task Forces’ initiative is a testament to TNI’s commitment to conduct inclusive social communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.” This recognition from the highest authority in HABEMA is not just a commendation but a testament to the significant impact of such initiatives on the region’s development.
